Ignite assigns our consultants to projects based on a best fit of knowledge and expertise to our clients' needs. The team is made up of a diverse group of exceptional people, led by:

Mark Long – whose passion for innovation drove the initial creation of Ignite. He loves shaping and delivering radical solutions to complex, organisation-wide problems. He is at his happiest working with large groups, helping our clients to develop creative ways of making the very best use of their key resources. In recent years Mark has led a number of projects in Health, Education and Children’s Services, helping Ignite to become a leading player in the delivery of innovative solutions and innovation capability into these areas.

Mark Smith – the driving force behind Ignite’s business development activity. He is in his element at the front-end, opening up new consulting opportunities and developing approaches to client needs that make full use of Ignite’s array of IP and practical experience. Mark’s has an exceptional track record of leading client programmes particularly with Local Authorities with which he has been instrumental in developing Ignite’s high impact Fundamental Service Review approach.

Tim Connolly – our man for spotting and leading new market opportunities. Loves developing strategic propositions and then drawing on his colleagues’ pragmatism to knock them into shape. Has a passion for finding new ways of making our expertise and experience accessible to the market, for shaping and developing key client relationships, and for identifying new trends and areas of opportunity for both Ignite and its clients. A natural leader and coach.

Ignite maintains a growing network of associates with a wide range of specialist backgrounds and expertise. Our policy is to use our own consultants unless one of our associate consultants is felt to have expertise or knowledge that could add more value to a client. We see our associates as being "part of the family", openly sharing our IP with the network and holding quarterly events to build relationships and share best practice.
