There are twelve key aspects of any organisation to which innovation can be applied. We call these "innovation areas". Embed innovation in all of these, and everything you do will be innovative.

 

The innovation areas fall naturally under four headings:

Continuous application of innovative thinking, techniques and disciplines to everything the business does 

 

 

Effective, transparent and accessible innovation process, supported by other management processes

 

Performance management processes and recognition and reward systems directly linked to innovation objectives

 

Availability of proven and constantly updated and replenished tools, techniques and approaches that support innovation activity.
